Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 231 § 60I. This statute limits the size of attorneys’ fees in certain medical malpractice cases.
Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 111 § 203. This statute establishes certain requirements for peer review of physicians and other health care providers to assess their competence.
Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 231 § 60H. This statute caps pain-and-suffering and certain other noneconomic damages in medical malpractice cases at $500,000 unless the injury involved substantial or permanent loss or impairment of a bodily function, substantial disfigurement, or other special circumstances justifying a jury verdict above that amount.
Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 231 § 60G. This statute modifies, in medical malpractice cases, the traditional common law rule known as the “collateral source rule.”
